The philosophy of latte art

It is a funny title to see when you were searching for a new blog, I guess. I can guarantee that I am not going to bore you with a philosophy lesson and make your brain hurt because it is happening to me when I think about philosophy.

Lets get to the point. If you saw any video that a barista making a latte with unicorn art or maybe just a heart, you would think that it is hard to do. You thought right. It is hard to make one. Maybe you thought it is hard because giving the shape with creamy milk and espresso in coffe cup is not that easy. That is also right but you are probably missing something in that step. Steaming the milk!!!

You might wondering why I said philosophy in the beginning. Philosophy is different to everyone. It is not like science and philosophy don't have facts, strict rules and experimental stuffs. Only thing that matter while thinking about philosophy is your  perspective. It is also like that  when you are steaming milk. You can see videos that says you need to do like this, hold like this and that but when time comes to hold a pitcher you are finding your own way while getting support from the ones that knows.
Philosophy is something you must add on and of course there are some indications that you need to see when you are steaming milk. Let me tell you about little tricks and then we can go back to art.
First of all you need to hold the pitcher (metal cup that you steam your milk in) a little side way so that your milk can have a little tornado when you started the steam machine. My way to get creamy texture is imagine cutting the pitcher for four piece in my head and place the steam wand to one piece.
as you can see.

Most important part is hearing kiss sound. It might sound ridiculous but you need to hear kiss sound for some time. The kiss sound is like sending someone air kiss and you need to hear that non-stop for some time. Actually how much you need to hear is up to you. Find your own way!
You can't build a building when you don't have a base. Sometimes we don't see the effort when we look at someone's success. It's like you can see an ıceberg and expect it to be small but you can't see what it is have under the water.
I am saying these just because I noticed that before the learning process I was watching the latte art videos and I was thinking like 'wow the art is amazing', never thinking about the milk part.
I remember that my first milk was a failure and you can guess that there is no art in the end because I don't have a creamy milk to make art.
After all that philosophic thinking, we can finally come to the art part but....
I am sorry if you were expecting a real art talk. There won't be any because I can't make great arts.

My most normal moods when trying to make latte art :'(
